Pray daily for pastors in the Slavic countries (as well as your own) that they will have wisdom and power from God to preach the Word effectually and to care for all of the saints. Pray that the convicting power of the Holy Spirit will accompany the preaching of God’s Word throughout all lands. Ask God to stir up Christians to use their God-given freedom to the fullest advantage in making known everywhere the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “Freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8). |
For those of us in whom the Spirit of Christ dwells, Christmas is not just a seasonal holiday, but a reason to “rejoice in the Lord always” (Philippians 4:4). It is with this continuing inward joy that we approach the New Year, reflecting on “His Indescribable Gift” (2 Corinthians 9:15). And with joy we anticipate an abundance of future blessings in Christ Jesus.
The star of Bethlehem has been envisioned with its bright light, shimmering with the blessed news that the Babe in the manger is Emmanuel – God with us! The star has come and is gone, but thoughts of its appearance remind us of more blessings yet to come, as we pray according to the will of that Anointed One who gave His all when He died upon the cross.
From the domestic and foreign workers of Slavic Missionary Service, we wish all of you who remember and support us the “peace of God which passes all comprehension” (Philippians 4:7) during this Holiday Season. In service to the Lord, may we “press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14). And with joy, may we all be prepared for the Blessed Savior’s return for His church. “Amen. Come Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20).
