Slavic Missionary Service

Pray daily for pastors in the Slavic countries (as well as your own) that they will have wisdom and power from God to preach the Word effectually and to care for all of the saints. Pray that the convicting power of the Holy Spirit will accompany the preaching of God’s Word throughout all lands. Ask God to stir up Christians to use their God-given freedom to the fullest advantage in making known everywhere the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “Freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8).

Throughout the world, all believers are occupied with similar occupations. God desires every Christian to witness, work and worship in those vocations. And in every country, God calls individuals to lead and labor for others in these tasks.

The true church, the body of Christ, is interconnected and intertwined throughout every nation. Therefore the church must serve, support and sustain one another. Each church reaches to those residing in its community and then extends that reach to other countries. Slavic Missionary Service was founded in 1933 to further that outreach into Slavic communities and countries.

Helping Christians by contributing funds to those individuals that God has called to lead is a tremendous task of accountability, responsibility and productivity. Seeing effectual and enduring results, as well as spiritual progress, from the abilities and actions of SMS missionaries delights the one who donates and deepens the commitment to continue to contribute.

Truly, it is hand-clapping, head-nodding and heart-warming to hear and see missionaries fulfill their callings to their churches, communities and countries. Pray that the workers of SMS will witness concerning the grace of God when opportunities arise. Ask God to strengthen, as they work to bring honor and glory to His name. And pray that they will worship with grateful and humble hearts, understanding that God has chosen them to be a blessing to others.

Blessed is the man you discipline, o Lord, the man you teach from your law.

Psalm 94:12

The Lord will resume His dealing with the nations, as well as with the Chosen nation, when He has completed the church in this Age of Grace. God is working today “to take out” of the nations “a people for His name” (Acts 15:14). Ask God to empower every witness that is proclaiming this message of love to sinful men. Pray continually that the Holy Spirit will convict men of their need of Christ. “Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
