SERVING OUR LORD SINCE 1933

About Us

Slavic Missionary Service (SMS) is directed in most part by those who were born in Eastern Europe. They know their countries and their people. They know how to prepare and distribute the Bread of Life to the most people, in the best way, and at the lowest cost. They work hand in hand with the Christians there, making SMS aware of the most urgent needs in a most timely matter. Good intentions and zeal are not enough in this life and death struggle--with knowledge of the people, their language and their needs, SMS can spread the Word of God most effectively.

Individuals and Churches in the West have made this possible. As support comes in, new workers are added to the missionary force.

SMS is committed to raising money to plant and physically build churches in the CIS.

SMS endeavors to supply equipment to Christian workers, whenever the need occurs. Material and financial help is given to believers wherever the need arises, especially in Eastern Europe and the CIS.

In addition to radio and literature, SMS is committed to spreading the message of hope with new technology that is available. The power of the internet is mind boggling, and SMS is on board, ready to use this tool to reach people world wide with the message of hope. Where ever a Russian speaking individual may live, whether it be in the United States, or across the seas, they can have free access to Bible teaching, Christian CD’s, broadcasts, all in the Russian language, in their own home via their computer!

None of these ministries is possible without the participation of committed Christians in the Western World.

Whose responsibility is it to give Russians and other Slavic Speaking people the Bread of Life? Jesus Himself gives the answer in Acts 1:8 where He says, "you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth." The apostle Paul speaks for all of us when he says, "I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise" Rom. 1:14

Today, the doors for positive action are wide open. Opportunities for personal involvement are many and varied. This is a work of faith and faithfulness. Bold action requires bold faith. The people in Eastern Europe and the CIS are starved for the Word of Truth. What a joy it is to share Christ with those who are ready and eager to receive Him!
