Bio-sketch

Born on April 4, 1936 into a Russian family in Bialystok, Eastern Poland. Experienced World War II in Poland (1939-44) and in Germany (1944-45).

Lived in Displaced Persons’ Camps in Germany following the war (1945-49). Received Christ as Savior in 1948 in Displaced Persons’ Camp in Germany.

Emigrated with family to the USA in 1949. Baptized in Cleveland, Ohio in 1952.

Graduated from Lincoln High School in Cleveland, Ohio in 1954. Graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, MO in 1958 with a degree in physics.

Received Masters of Divinity degree from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1961. Ecumenical scholar at the University of Mainz, Germany (1961-63).

Worked for the CIMADE (refugee resettlement agency) in Paris, France (1963-64). Pastor of the Evangelical Baptist Church (English-Russian) in Union, New Jersey since 1964. (The church began as the First Russian Baptist Church of Newark in 1916).

Received Masters of Sacred Theology degree from Union Theological Seminary in New York City in 1968. Received the Citation for Achievement from William Jewell College in 1984.Received a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) in 1968.

President of the English Branch of the Russian-Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Union, USA for six years.
