Minsk Region, Belarus — October, 2008
August, 2007 — We moved into our new building where we meet in the lower hall which is now finished and available for use.
Public School Musical Festival — 850 students and teachers attended and heard the gospel preached.
Tent Evangelism — Another musical festival was conducted and around 900 people attended. Many responded praying the sinners prayer. We pray they will find their way into evangelical churches here.
Hospital Services — We have again been given permission to conduct services in the hospital. Last year there were 20 persons that repented during the meetings. Attendance varies at these services, usually less than 20 persons. In May of this year we had three special visitors at the meeting who were there to give their testimonies of deliverance from alcoholism. One of the men was converted seven years ago in this very place. When I closed the service with an invitation, 10 persons prayed for God’s deliverance.
We were given permission by hospital authorities to show a film on the life of an American invalid who lost arms and legs and is living by faith testifying of God’s grace. Five women at the close of the service opened their hearts to Christ. We are grateful for the permission that was granted.
Children’s Musical Group — A concert was given in the middle school in Novinka. It was the first time for such an event. The school is located in a beautiful lake district of the Minsk region. The director of the school wants us for a repeat performance.
MC at a Wedding Breakfast — I am invited by Christian couples to provide a program of music and appropriate commentary on important issues in marriage from time to time. In the city of Zodino, the parents of the couple were not believers. They and the guests were able to hear the gospel for the first time and hear what the Bible says about Christian family life.
In the evening our musical group, “THE ARK” put on an evangelistic program in the cultural hall in town.
Another wedding breakfast was conducted in a restaurant in Moscow in August and around 150 friends of the bride and groom attended.
Ordination Service — I participated in the ordination service of a pastor in the city of Borisov.
In Slutsk — “The Ark” provided the music for an evangelistic meeting in a church where 200-250 were in attendance. I preached on the theme, “First Love”. Ten persons responded to the invitation. I was told one of the women came to church for the first time.
Thank you for your support and your prayers. Both serve in this important work of winning people to Christ.
