Report of SMS Missionary Sergey Zhukovski
Borisov, Belarus – October - December, 2008
Greetings brothers and sisters in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ! We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year in all your activities and especially in your service for Him. I thank you for your support during the past year and that through your prayers the work of God has grown and been strengthened in our city. May God continue to bless you so that you can continue to labor with us in preaching the gospel.
In December we organized a special gathering for married couples. We had 50 persons that attended. Five new couples were from non-Christian families. During our meeting we discussed two themes: how to attain unity in the family, and how to overcome conflicts in the home. All who attended expressed satisfaction with what they heard and provided written comments. We plan to organize more of these meetings in the future because we see the need of this in our church families.
Some problems exist that have brought couples to consider divorce. Pray with us that our families will be structured on sound Christian principles.
We are thankful that the Lord has added new people to our church who have repented and followed the Lord in baptism. We have 13 new members and others who also will be added soon. Pray that the Lord will continue this wonderful work. We are planning during this year to start a new youth center. We plan to rent a building nearby where we will carry on this work. At present many young people are attending church services and we want to expand this ministry. Please pray for us!
We thank you for the help you have given toward the construction projects. We have done preparatory work for a new driveway and parking lot. In the spring we would like to put in the drainage and pour the asphalt. We need to finish work on the building which will require a good bit of finance. Please pray!
