God wants all believers to know His will in their daily lives. Pray especially for young people who are seeking God's plan for their lives. May they be "strong in the Lord and in the power of His might" (Ephesians 6:10). As they seek to serve the Lord in different vocations, pray that they will "put on the whole armor of God" and that they "may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" (Ephesians 6:11). |
“Doing good” means to render beneficial service. This includes material, as well as emotional and spiritual, needs. Showing and sharing “love” to others should always have the aim of leading those others to salvation in Jesus Christ. This is the believer’s highest privilege. For those already born-again and blood-bought, that love helps to strengthen the bonds of spiritual understanding and unity.
Slavic Missionary Service desires their workers to submit to God’s standards both privately and publicly. Christ-like love expresses itself by implementing the “best” for others. How important it is for Christians to have an impact on the world with God’s love. When doing good, the prudent person follows the course of proper actions which will profit others.
The believer does “good” when witnessing about God’s love both by words and works, when watching for opportunities to encourage or exhort, and when warning others of the destructive effects of wrongdoing, as well as the eventual outcome of rejection toward God. The primary tasks of the church are edification and evangelism. With these purposes, it was born. With passion it grew and in power it covered the earth. The church of God was created and commissioned to work for others, to witness to others and to win others to its Creator. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).
Pray that the workers of SMS will “not grow weary of doing good” (2 Thessalonians 3:13). Opportunities should be accepted to do good for everyone, “especially to those who are of the household of faith” (Galatians 6:10). Intercede that all missionaries will “not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased” (Hebrews 13:16).
