Like Paul, Slavic Missionary Service is giving thanks for the people of God, “praying always for you” who contribute to the missionaries and the missionary projects (1:3).
SMS is “giving thanks” for the promises of God, especially the qualification “to share in the inheritance of the saints in light” (1:12).
SMS is overflowing with thanksgiving for its position in God just like the church, “firmly rooted... built up... established” to serve the Lord – already for ninety-one years (2:7).
SMS is “thankful” for the peace of God, which calls all believers into “one body,” especially pleading at this time that believers in Ukraine would experience this inward tranquility (3:15).
SMS has “thankfulness in (our) hearts” for the pleasure to praise God by “teaching and admonishing one another... singing” in the church community (3:16).
SMS is giving thanks for the possibilities to practice good in “word or deed, all in the name of the Lord Jesus” (3:17).
And finally, SMS is giving thanks for the privilege to pray, specifically that “God may open up a door for the Word” to be proclaimed throughout the world, especially in Slavic countries (4:2-3).
What an honor and joy it is to give thanks that God has placed each Christian in the body of Christ to glorify and magnify the head, which is Christ Jesus! May He be pleased with all service rendered to Him from faithful, fervent hands and hearts.
God’s strategy for world evangelism calls for two equally important elements: Co-missionaries and Go-missionaries, the senders and the sent, the supporters and the workers. A Christian church without missionary enthusiasm is a contradiction. God depends upon the faithful testimony of His people for the evangelization of the world. The Savior expects those who have tasted the sweetness of salvation to spread the news far and wide. He has commissioned His children to share His Word to the lost in every country. |
