Slavic Missionary Service understands the necessity of faith in order to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. “For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). How important it is for a Christian to possess faith in God! In times of peace or persecution, in times of poverty or prosperity, in times of progress or postponement, faith in God must govern and guide the believer’s thoughts and actions. A person mature in faith practices patience, piety and purity before God and others. Faith always has a concern for others and finds ways to calm, cheer and confirm. Faith propels a person to proclaim the Good News. Genuine faith has L.E.G.S!
Firm faith continues to LEAN on the Lord Jesus Christ for duty and for direction. His example is set before the dedicated disciple to follow. Found in Him is all the essential equipment, as well as enlightenment, in order to finish the good fight of faith. “Stand firm in the faith” (1 Corinthians 16:13).
Fortified faith continues to ENCOURAGE the family of God to remain true and productive. Focus is placed on the presence of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit to live, labor and love in ways that are well pleasing to God. “The righteous will live by faith” (Habakkuk 2:4).
Fruitful faith continues to GROW in grace and knowledge. Fellowship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in the Word, as well as fellowship with likeminded believers in worship illuminates, instructs and improves. “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).
Friendly faith continues to SERVE for the Lord’s sake, for the Gospel’s sake and for others’ sake. Faith was never meant to remain hidden in solitude. Faith is meant to be shared. “Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22).
