Pray daily for pastors in the Slavic countries (as well as your own) that they will have wisdom and power from God to preach the Word effectually and to care for all of the saints. Pray that the convicting power of the Holy Spirit will accompany the preaching of God’s Word throughout all lands. Ask God to stir up Christians to use their God-given freedom to the fullest advantage in making known everywhere the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “Freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8). |
The missionaries of Slavic Missionary Service are missions-minded. They have been reaching out to their communities and countries effectively, but they also understand that qualified laborers are quite in demand on other continents. Because God has equipped some SMS workers with exceptional preaching and teaching abilities and skills, they have been traveling to other countries to serve others.
SMS Leaders are able to relay that spiritual knowledge and practical experience that God has given to those churches and communities in other countries where laborers are lacking. Praise God for partners who share the same vision of evangelism and provide extra support for these extended trips. “The laborer is worthy of his wages” (1 Timothy 5:18).
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Luke 10:2). Let us pray that God will guide His laborers into the “ripe” fields where people are ready to hear the Gospel. Whether to only one or to a great many, may the missionaries of SMS be prepared to share the story of salvation compassionately and correctly. May each laborer be like “Prisca and Aquila fellow-workers in Christ Jesus… Urbanus fellow-worker in Christ… Tryphaena and Tryphosa, workers in the Lord” and “Persis the beloved, who has worked hard in the Lord” (Romans 16:3, 9, 12).
