God wants all believers to know His will in their daily lives. Pray especially for young people who are seeking God's plan for their lives. May they be "strong in the Lord and in the power of His might" (Ephesians 6:10). As they seek to serve the Lord in different vocations, pray that they will "put on the whole armor of God" and that they "may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" (Ephesians 6:11). |
Amazing opportunities to help the Ukrainian refugees that are traveling across the borders into other countries in order to find safety and serenity are offered to those Christians who are willing to provide care, compassion and concern. The missionaries of Slavic Missionary Service are accepting these opportunities from God and are actively assisting many people who are traveling from Ukraine especially into Belarus.
Two SMS missionaries that serve as pastors in the Resurrection Church of Borovliany, a suburb of Minsk, have been able to assist a large group of refugees, especially from Mariupol, Ukraine. They arrive to Belarus from a long journey, hungry, tired and discouraged.
Volunteers from the church prepare food for the refugees. Overnight accommodations are provided at the church and at the homes of some of the members. When the neighbors of the church heard about this ministry, many enquired how they could assist this hospitable endeavor. Because of this interest from the community, the two missionaries and the members of the church were able to share God’s message of love and peace also to their neighbors.
After a day or two, the refugees are taken to the border to continue their journeys into Poland. They choose not to stay in Belarus, because this country may be compelled to join the fighting if the war persists. Many of the refugees are immensely grateful for the kindness of Christians. Many also listen to the salvation testimonies of church members and accept spiritual literature for further study.
Pray for the missionaries of SMS that are heavily involved in the provision of humanitarian aid and Christian hospitality to the refugees that are fleeing Ukraine during this time of chaos and warring conflict. May God continue to impress upon the hearts of His children to do as much as they can to alleviate the distress of these refugees who are mostly women and children. Opportunities to contribute to this compassionate ministry are possible through Slavic Missionary Service. Please send any donations to SMS, PO Box 469, Annandale, NJ 08801 or click on the “donate” button at your convenience.
