Pray daily for pastors in the Slavic countries (as well as your own) that they will have wisdom and power from God to preach the Word effectually and to care for all of the saints. Pray that the convicting power of the Holy Spirit will accompany the preaching of God’s Word throughout all lands. Ask God to stir up Christians to use their God-given freedom to the fullest advantage in making known everywhere the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “Freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8). |
Seeing the destruction firsthand was devastating and discouraging. But sharing physical and spiritual sustenance was overwhelmingly satisfying and immediately successful. Providing these packages is still extremely pertinent during this ongoing battle. People in major cities and large towns are trying to rebuild and maintain some semblance of “normal” life, but the individuals in villages and relief centers are still struggling independently to survive during this warring conflict.
Therefore, Slavic Missionary Service is committed to continue this necessary outreach as long as funds are available. Many refugees have been reached with the Gospel during this time, and churches are reaping the benefits of spiritual growth. Many, who have been assisted by God’s people, are learning about salvation in Christ for the first time and are witnessing the benevolent service of committed Christians.
Although many are exhausted after helping with humanitarian aid for over six months, they are relying on God’s strength for “doing good” to others and trying not to “grow weary” or “lose heart” (Galatians 6:9; 2 Corinthians 4:1; 2 Thessalonians 3:13). Participating with a dedicated team of volunteers that dutifully works for others affirmed the accountability necessary before God and man. Consider contributing to the Ukrainian relief efforts. Truly, this “labor of love” is not in vain!
