God wants all believers to know His will in their daily lives. Pray especially for young people who are seeking God's plan for their lives. May they be "strong in the Lord and in the power of His might" (Ephesians 6:10). As they seek to serve the Lord in different vocations, pray that they will "put on the whole armor of God" and that they "may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" (Ephesians 6:11). |
Teamwork in the Christian community brings unified fidelity for the cause of Christ and unfathomable fruit for the church. Hands and head and heart need to be utilized for the Lord Jesus in service. He does not make distinctives among His services according to forms of ministry. The person who cleans the church, the person who cooks for the conference and the person who communicates to the congregation are all called of God to serve in each specific capability and corner of the Christian community. “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord and not for people, knowing that it is from the Lord that you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve” (Colossians 3:23-24).
God has His appointed task, His appointed time and His appointed training for every believer in the body of Christ, the church. “But now God has arranged the parts, each one of them in the body, just as He desired” (1 Corinthians 12:18). Every Christian should live and labor for God in every avenue of life. “And He died for all, so that those who live would no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose on their behalf” (2 Corinthians 5:15). Talents, thoughts and time must be given to God for the sake of the Gospel and for the sake of others.
Harmony among church leaders and members is basic to inclusion, inspiration and integrity in the church. All of God’s servants are coworkers with one another. The church is to “speak the same thing” and be “perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment” (1 Corinthians 1:10). Believers are bound together in a “new life” in Christ, sharing both joys and sorrows. It is only as Christ remains the first love of the church that love among church members can exist.
Slavic Missionary Service is so fortunate to have foreign missionaries who are willing and wanting to work together in God’s harvest field. Some missionaries join together for conferences and seminars to encourage, exhort and evangelize. Other missionaries combine their talents to counsel or teach Biblical precepts and principles. And some missionaries connect with each other to reach the next generation with various opportunities and outreaches to share the Gospel clearly and concisely.
Pray that the SMS workers will continue to network together to accomplish the tasks that God has given. Ask God to pour His grace and wisdom upon the missionaries of SMS so that they may fulfill the responsibilities of proclaiming God’s Word, maintaining God’s ways and training others to do God’s will.
