Then, go to Gethsemane and watch the Sacrificial Jesus sweat, as it were, “drops of blood” (Luke 22:43) in anguish and agony. Knowing that His “hour” had come, Jesus submits to the eternal plan. Listen to those humble words, “Not My will, but Yours be done” (Luke 22:42).
Finally, go to Golgotha and look upon the Savior Jesus uplifted on the cross. Hear that despairing cry, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:46). Behold the thorn-pierced brow, the wounded hands, the pierced side and the wounded feet.
For redemption of mankind, Jesus risked all for all. Hearken to the Sovereign Christ when He says, “It is finished” (John 19:30). There at the foot of the cross, one truly can estimate the value of a soul.
