God’s strategy for world evangelism calls for two equally important elements: Co-missionaries and Go-missionaries, the senders and the sent, the supporters and the workers. A Christian church without missionary enthusiasm is a contradiction. God depends upon the faithful testimony of His people for the evangelization of the world. The Savior expects those who have tasted the sweetness of salvation to spread the news far and wide. He has commissioned His children to share His Word to the lost in every country.

Last year, Slavic Missionary Service raised funds to assist a small house church in the town of Glazunovka, Russia with their heating system. The building and property were donated to the believers of the community by a Christian woman who went to be with the Lord. She desired that her property would continue to be a place for believers to worship; therefore, she wanted the territory to be documented as religious property.

The congregation of 15 members was grateful for the warmth experienced during the winter months. This is the only evangelical church in this small town of 7,000 people. There is also a Sunday school class for six children. In the month of August, an evangelistic outreach was conducted for the community with a blow-up slide, crafts, games and a special Bible presentation for the children.

The church is still in the process of remodeling and renovating the former house. A new addition has already been added to the structure. The large room (used as an auditorium), the corridor and the kitchen now need to be completed. To tile the three rooms and paint (or wallpaper), the total cost will be $2000 for labor and materials. The items for the rest room have already been purchased and must be installed. To finish the rest room will cost approximately $500.

SMS desires to continue this wonderful partnership in a town where no church has ever existed. Officially, the believers are now recognized in this community and can shine as lights presenting the true gospel of salvation. Consider the possibility of giving to this small community in order that they may grow.

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

Ephesians 4:2-3

Pray for your local church and the local churches in Slavic countries. Ask the Lord to increase the spiritual life of each member of the church. Ask Him to assist your church in the area where you live to seek souls with salvation from sin. And may this assistance extend throughout the whole world. Pray for your pastor and leadership, as well as the pastors and leadership in the Slavic world. Pray for peace in the world. Ask God to restrain evil through the Holy Spirit in order that His Word may have free course in every country.
