Slavic Missionary Service

In the Word of God nothing is clearer than the longsuffering of God which seeks and waits for individuals to repent of their sins before His holiness requires judgment for those sins. He rises to judgment only when iniquity is full. Pray daily that many sinners will find cleansing through the blood of Jesus Christ. Intercede earnestly for unsaved individuals that they will come to God by the “new and living way” (Hebrews 10:20). Pray for the SMS missionaries that they would rise to any occasion to proclaim the Good News “that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15).

Throughout the world, God is searching for men and women who will submit to the call of ministry. God has given “gifts” to His children in order to accomplish His will, but every child must choose to accept the place where God guides to activate those gifts. Missionaries, especially, must be “ready and willing” to endure pressure and problems when endeavoring to please God in his or her designated place of ministry.

Every year, the interim director of Slavic Missionary Service receives unique opportunities to travel to new places and meet new people. Usually, these “blossoming” contacts are arranged by leaders in each specific Slavic country. They want to show the spiritual progress that is happening, and they want to show the spiritual people who are responsible for such results. Almost always, these servants could benefit from financial assistance in order to spend more time focused on their ministries.

Therefore, SMS desires to support new workers who are serving God effectively, but sponsors must be located in order for this partnership to be successful. SMS seeks to provide funds that are equivalent to the living costs of a middle class family. Each country is different, and SMS must determine the correct amount to provide. Of course, if a family lives in the capital of a country or a larger city, then more funds must be obtained for adequate living.

The Slavic countries still need assistance with spiritual resources and sponsorship. Some large towns and villages lack a place of worship. Some areas do not even have any Christian influence. Therefore, intercede for SMS that God will indicate where instruction and influence should be shared. And pray that God will direct the SMS staff in America to new contacts that desire to partner with the Slavic world through SMS.

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

Pray that the Gospel will reach the millions in the Slavic countries that have not yet heard what Christ has done for them. Many small cities and towns still do not have an official place of worship. Ask God to help the Slavic churches be effective witnesses in their neighborhoods. Pray that souls will continue to be saved, baptized and discipled through the ministries of the church. Pray that the Holy Spirit powerfully and persistently will convict men of sin and lead many to believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world.
