Recently, eye doctors from the state of Georgia visited Grace Church in order to check the eyesight of many people in the community and donate glasses to those who needed them. They also talked about God’s love. Many people in Bendery were surprised that these visitors from America donated their time and their professional skills free of charge. They wondered what motivates these people to come and help people without receiving anything in return. It was a great opportunity to tell everyone that it is the love of God that compels these believers to share spiritual and material blessings with the residents of Bendery. The true God desires that His children serve others.
In March a special meeting was conducted for the women in Grace Church. In the community an international women’s day is celebrated during this time, so the church wanted to show gratitude to the faithfulness of godly women in the congregation. Sermons about women in the Bible, as well as singing and Christian poetry, were shared around the tables. In an atmosphere of joy and warmth, the circle of Christians testified of the goodness and greatness of their God.
During the week, Bible studies are conducted in a few homes. These times of fellowship help the body of Christ to grow closer and learn more about Biblical principles. The groups are also visited by neighbors who are interested in learning more about the church and the Christian life.
Lord willing, a women's conference will be conducted in May at the church. Pray that the Lord will bless the whole organization of this event. This year, Peter hopes that with God's help a women's camp and a children's camp can be conducted in the summer. (Praise God that funds were already received from SMS to assist in these opportunities.)
