God is Still Working

In the Word of God nothing is clearer than the longsuffering of God which seeks and waits for individuals to repent of their sins before His holiness requires judgment for those sins. He rises to judgment only when iniquity is full. Pray daily that many sinners will find cleansing through the blood of Jesus Christ. Intercede earnestly for unsaved individuals that they will come to God by the “new and living way” (Hebrews 10:20). Pray for the SMS missionaries that they would rise to any occasion to proclaim the Good News “that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15).

Too often events outside the church of Christ Jesus absorb the Christian’s attention and consequently, the believer fails to notice the accomplishments that God is performing in and through His children. Many people are still searching for the truth about God and the meaning of life. Many young believers in Christ hunger for a better understanding of the Word of God to assist them in their Christian growth and in their aspirations to please the Lord. Many churches are standing firm in their faith and are sharing that faith to anyone who desires to hear.

Therefore, worship services, prayer meetings, home Bible studies, summer programs, seminars and conferences must be coordinated and conducted for Christians and for people interested in seeking the true way of salvation. Every opportunity must be taken to distribute the Word of God by preaching, teaching and witnessing. The Holy Spirit always honors the Scriptures. Although there are many adversaries and antagonists that seek to thwart the work of God, nevertheless, the church of Jesus Christ will advance until it is completed for His honor and glory.

Pray that the missionaries of Slavic Missionary Service will keep their eyes on the Lord and obey the guidance of the Holy Spirit daily in every detail of their lives. Pray that they may know how and when to use their God-given gifts so that they may be pleasing to Him. May God empower them to “labor according to His working which works in (them) mightily” (Colossians 1:29).

Consider how you can help these SMS missionaries in their ministries. Please designate your donation for children’s and youth work such as church gatherings, summer camps and orphanages; or for adult work such as family, women’s and men’s seminars and conferences, evangelistic gatherings in small towns and villages; and visitation to hospitals, prisons and needy families. Your contribution truly can change a person’s life through the ministries of SMS.

O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

Psalm 63:1

Pray that the Gospel will reach the millions in the Slavic countries that have not yet heard what Christ has done for them. Many small cities and towns still do not have an official place of worship. Ask God to help the Slavic churches be effective witnesses in their neighborhoods. Pray that souls will continue to be saved, baptized and discipled through the ministries of the church. Pray that the Holy Spirit powerfully and persistently will convict men of sin and lead many to believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world.
