Ask God to thrust into His harvest many young people ready to proclaim the “Good News.” Pray that they will learn from God’s Word to live in the light of His coming and be ready to stand before the judgment seat of Christ. “I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one” (1 John 2:14). Thank God for every pastor and teacher already laboring to perfect the saints, and ask Him to strengthen them to continue their work through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The missionaries of Slavic Missionary Service are busy about the Master’s business on Slavic fields. Many of the missionaries are involved with ministries that reach the youth. These times of service are vital to the stability and strength of the church and the Christian community.

Valery Eroshkin, SMS missionary and pastor, conducted a youth conference in Oryol, Russia in November. Youth were invited from many regions around Oryol to hear messages that centered on a healthy relationship with Jesus Christ. Approximately 300 young people attended the event, and fourteen came forward to repent of their sins and to renew their relationships with Christ.

Valera Beza, SMS missionary in Minsk, Belarus, recently shared ways to evangelize and disciple in the Minsk Theological Seminary and at a conference for young people. For one week Valera taught the students about specific ways to share the Gospel and the importance of discipleship with new believers. 250 young people attended the youth conference which focused on the theme, “Speak up.” Discussions centered on ways to witness to family, friends and neighbors.

Slavic Missionary Service understands the importance of reaching youth for Christ. Therefore, SMS encourages each missionary to pray, prepare and promote for the next generation messages and methods that instruct and inspire young people concerning salvation and Christian service. Everyone, both young and old, should be given the chance to hear the Gospel and the choice to heed the call to be saved by grace through faith in the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Never wait for the lost soul to approach you and ask about the way to salvation. He or she seldom comes. The method of our Lord Jesus was to seek the lost. “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). All around us are opportunities to witness about “new life” in Christ, if the believer will allow the Holy Spirit to assist him in sharing that marvelous message. People should be given a choice. Pray that all of the SMS missionaries will present the Gospel to anyone who is willing to listen to the “Good News.”
