God wants all believers to know His will in their daily lives. Pray especially for young people who are seeking God's plan for their lives. May they be "strong in the Lord and in the power of His might" (Ephesians 6:10). As they seek to serve the Lord in different vocations, pray that they will "put on the whole armor of God" and that they "may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" (Ephesians 6:11). |
In the letters of Timothy and Titus in the Bible, Paul the elderly man speaks intimately to these younger servants in the faith about church leadership and Christian living. Paul appointed Timothy to remain at the church in Ephesus and Titus to minister at the church in Crete.
Paul depended upon Timothy and Titus to be good emissaries of Jesus Christ. Both were to exercise themselves in godliness and teach the church members to govern themselves according to the holy standards of Biblical doctrine. “Prescribe and teach these things” (1 Timothy 4:11).
Paul understood that his labor for the Lord would soon be completed. Timothy and Titus were called to continue the work of the Lord. Upon the shoulders of Timothy and Titus lay the responsibility to preach, teach and serve the church community consistently and constantly, so that all would stand firm upon sound doctrine and be delivered from heresy by heeding their exhortations and encouragement. “Preach the word: be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with great patience and instruction” (2 Timothy 4:2).
Like Paul the apostle, Slavic Missionary Service, with the assistance of the spiritual leadership in Slavic countries, seeks men and women who will serve the Lord Jesus Christ as His ambassadors or emissaries. Even Jesus said, “As the Father has sent Me, I also send you” (John 20:21). Pray that these SMS missionaries in the countries of Belarus, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine will be “ambassadors for Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:20). Also, intercede for the SMS leadership in the states and overseas that they will, like Paul, assist young men and women to be prepared for spiritual positions in the future, as God calls and confirms.
