Pray for the Workers of SMS

God wants all believers to know His will in their daily lives. Pray especially for young people who are seeking God's plan for their lives. May they be "strong in the Lord and in the power of His might" (Ephesians 6:10). As they seek to serve the Lord in different vocations, pray that they will "put on the whole armor of God" and that they "may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" (Ephesians 6:11).

During your “quiet time” with the Lord, consider reading the first chapter of First Thessalonians and then intercede for the national workers of Slavic Missionary Service through its inspiring words. Ask God to strengthen the SMS missionaries to “work” faithfully, to “labor” lovingly and to “hope” steadfastly in the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 1:3). These laborers truly are “brethren, beloved of God” (1:4). Pray that through their lips and their lives, the Word of God will be shared “in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction” (1:5).

God strengthened the new born-again believers in Thessalonica despite much “tribulation,” and they became “examples to all the believers” (1:6-7) in the territories around them. Therefore, pray that God will accomplish the same today through the SMS missionaries in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova, as they share their “faith toward God” (1:8) to their churches, communities and beyond.

Beseech God to empower the workers of SMS to proclaim God’s Word so that people will “turn to God” in repentance and serve the “living and true God” (1:9). Praise God that He has delivered the missionaries of SMS “from the wrath to come” (1:10). With this assurance, pray that the SMS national workers may live fervently and fruitfully for God while they “wait for His Son from heaven” (1:10).

Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

Romans 10:4

With a heart of compassion, pray for the salvation of souls on each of the continents of the world. Pray that the Gospel of Jesus Christ will spread to the seven billion people throughout the world. "The Lord… is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). Ask God to strengthen you to be a witness for Him wherever you are and in whatever you do!
