The Participation of Pedagogy

Pray daily for pastors in the Slavic countries (as well as your own) that they will have wisdom and power from God to preach the Word effectually and to care for all of the saints. Pray that the convicting power of the Holy Spirit will accompany the preaching of God’s Word throughout all lands. Ask God to stir up Christians to use their God-given freedom to the fullest advantage in making known everywhere the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “Freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8).

Each generation must prepare the next generation to function properly and productively in all facets of life. This principle must also be practiced in the realm of Christianity. “Sound” or “Solid” spiritual institutions are necessary to educate, exhort and equip young men and women to fulfill the Great Commission and share the Gospel (Matthew 28:19-20). Therefore, Bible colleges, institutes and seminaries all assist in this great endeavor.

Rob Zapotoski, SMS Interim Director, had the privilege of instructing fifteen Christian leaders this past February in Borislav, Ukraine. Since 1998, Ivan Romaniuk has been partnering with Slavic Missionary Service as a missionary and now is one of the leaders over the entire eight regions of Western Ukraine. Therefore, he invited those fifteen men whom he knew would benefit from a “condensed course” that is offered to students at the Ukrainian Baptist Theological Seminary. “Commit to faithful men who shall be able to teach others” (2 Timothy 2:2). Even though the winter weather was worrisome, the leaders attended the classes for five days.

Praise God that SMS is involved in training and preparing Christian leaders in Western Ukraine to honor and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ through their gifts and talents. How important it is to be prepared for ministry! “For we are laborers together with God” (1 Corinthians 3:9). Pray for the these Christian leaders of Western Ukraine that they may be diligent to present themselves approved to God as workmen who do “not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). May God help each one of them to “be adequate, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:17).

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.

Romans 1:16

The Lord will resume His dealing with the nations, as well as with the Chosen nation, when He has completed the church in this Age of Grace. God is working today “to take out” of the nations “a people for His name” (Acts 15:14). Ask God to empower every witness that is proclaiming this message of love to sinful men. Pray continually that the Holy Spirit will convict men of their need of Christ. “Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
