The churches in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova, where the missionaries of Slavic Missionary Service are serving, continue to see souls saved and baptized. SMS is grateful to the Lord that spiritual progress is evident, as the workers are involved in outreaches for all age groups in the churches and communities. Most of these outreaches are now self-sufficient, and SMS seeks to assist those ministries that are lacking in funds or resources.
SMS supporters are consistent in their giving, as they see and hear of results that are building the church of Jesus Christ and blessing the Christian community. All large projects conducted by SMS have now been completed for God’s glory. No new projects can be started unless large donations are received by supporters. Likewise, no new workers can be sought until donors are located that will dedicate themselves to donate systematically. Therefore, pray that new contacts can be established and bridges built to present the current needs of the Slavic world.
True believers “are God’s fellow-workers” (1 Corinthians 3:9). And missions is God’s plan for the world. “And I do all things for the sake of the Gospel, that I may become a fellow-partaker of it” (1 Corinthians 9:23). When Christians and missions are joined together, God’s plan to reach the world with salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ, can be accomplished.
Pray that the foreign workers of Slavic Missionary Service perceive the will of God and press forward to be pleasing in His sight and profitable in His service. May God help them to excel in their Christian lives and be endued with His power. May they have a passion for the salvation of souls and for the sanctification of the saints. Through leadership of the SMS workers, pray that the saints will be enlightened, encouraged, enriched and established in Christ Jesus and in His Word. Most of all, intercede on their behalf that God will help them to have patience in every ministry and be filled with praise when acknowledging the manifold grace of God.

God’s strategy for world evangelism calls for two equally important elements: Co-missionaries and Go-missionaries, the senders and the sent, the supporters and the workers. A Christian church without missionary enthusiasm is a contradiction. God depends upon the faithful testimony of His people for the evangelization of the world. The Savior expects those who have tasted the sweetness of salvation to spread the news far and wide. He has commissioned His children to share His Word to the lost in every country. |
