This fall, two groups were challenged from God’s Word in Borislav and Lutsk, Ukraine. One class was just beginning their Biblical preparation and the other class will be receiving their diplomas in December. The young men showed eagerness and enthusiasm, as they listened to lessons of homiletics (Minor Prophets) and Preaching Techniques (Public Speaking). Most of all, they understand that the Holy Spirit must help them if they desire to share God’s Word correctly, confidently and concisely.
Many of these future leaders are already preaching in churches, assisting youth ministries or helping in summer camping programs. Some will “fit” into established spiritual structures, and some will venture into various areas of service. How important it is for each of these men to “preach the word” (2 Timothy 4:2) and to “fulfill your ministry” (2 Timothy 4:5).
Pray that God will continue to call men into His work and provide the best preparation for them to accomplish their callings. Intercede for SMS so that resources will be distributed to the places most needed and to the people who are called to serve specifically their native lands. Pray that the students will be “nourished on the words of the faith and of sound doctrine” (1 Timothy 4:6).
