Slavic Missionary Service

Ask God to thrust into His harvest many young people ready to proclaim the “Good News.” Pray that they will learn from God’s Word to live in the light of His coming and be ready to stand before the judgment seat of Christ. “I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one” (1 John 2:14). Thank God for every pastor and teacher already laboring to perfect the saints, and ask Him to strengthen them to continue their work through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Peter and Tanya Korotash, SMS missionaries, are immensely grateful to all who pray and support their ministry in the city of Bendery, Moldova. Since 2002, God has blessed the ministries of Grace Church in many different ways. Now is an extremely busy time for the church. Finally, with support from other countries, the church roof and facade are being repaired and renovated. Ten old windows also will be replaced.

During this time plans are being developed and volunteers are being prepared for a women’s camp, as well as a children’s camp and a youth camp. These events will be held in July and August. The outreaches are planned to strengthen the Christian community and to reach those Individuals who have never heard the Gospel message.

Since 1996 Peter and Tanya Korotash have been serving as SMS missionaries within the countries of Moldova and Pridnestrovie, an independent republic of Moldova. Varnitsa, a small city in Moldova, was the first place that Peter, a native of Pridnestrovie, served as pastor. He continues to oversee the ministry there, as well as ministering in Grace Church and New Ark Church in Bendery. Bendery has a population of 110,000 people.

SMS is truly grateful to God for servants like Peter and Tanya, who are “fervent in spirit, serving the Lord” (Romans 12:11). Pray that the Lord will help them to share the Good News of salvation wherever they might go, and pray that they will be godly examples in whatever they might do.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

Never wait for the lost soul to approach you and ask about the way to salvation. He or she seldom comes. The method of our Lord Jesus was to seek the lost. “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). All around us are opportunities to witness about “new life” in Christ, if the believer will allow the Holy Spirit to assist him in sharing that marvelous message. People should be given a choice. Pray that all of the SMS missionaries will present the Gospel to anyone who is willing to listen to the “Good News.”
