Pray daily for pastors in the Slavic countries (as well as your own) that they will have wisdom and power from God to preach the Word effectually and to care for all of the saints. Pray that the convicting power of the Holy Spirit will accompany the preaching of God’s Word throughout all lands. Ask God to stir up Christians to use their God-given freedom to the fullest advantage in making known everywhere the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “Freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8). |

A Christian should never become complacent. The best way to witness is to be near the Lord Jesus in spiritual fellowship, in prayer and in Bible study. “The unfolding of Thy word gives light; it gives understanding to the simple” (Psalm 119:130). Then, the believer must show Christ and speak for Christ. “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). Confess Christ to others consistently with courage and clarity that they might “see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:4).
Four SMS national workers from Belarus were able to visit their supporting churches this year in order to communicate “face to face” the blessings that God is accomplishing in their churches and communities. “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9). First, these missionaries were able to be spiritually fed at a conference in California. Then, each one of them travelled to specific places, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, to report about the work of God in Belarus.
Each SMS missionary is truly grateful for the spiritual and financial assistance from their supporting churches. God will work if Christians give themselves to earnest, prevailing prayer for more laborers and for His servants already on the field. Believers must bolster God’s servants and uphold them in supplication that they might nor falter or fail. “But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). Pray that God in His grace will preserve the SMS national workers in their places with faithfulness and fruitfulness.
