Sharing Christ during Christmas

God wants all believers to know His will in their daily lives. Pray especially for young people who are seeking God's plan for their lives. May they be "strong in the Lord and in the power of His might" (Ephesians 6:10). As they seek to serve the Lord in different vocations, pray that they will "put on the whole armor of God" and that they "may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" (Ephesians 6:11).

Valery Eroshkin, SMS missionary, shares some wonderful news concerning opportunities to present the Gospel during the Holiday season. On December 24th, 2017 the Transfiguration Church in Oryol, Russia celebrated Christmas with both a morning service and an evening service. From 2 to 5 PM, there was a special time for the children of the church. 50 children attended, and 80 were fed a festive meal during this period. Gifts were given to the children.

Then, on January 7, 2018 (the date most Russians celebrate Christmas according to the Gregorian Calendar), a service was held for the community. 240 packages were prepared and presented to the visiting children. During the service, a special theatrical performance was shown for the children and the children's church choir sang for the visitors.

Valery thanks all who assisted in this vital ministry. In spirit, believers from another country partnered together with the believers in Oryol to share the “glad tidings” of the birth and ministry of Jesus Christ! Pray that through this effort, new children will attend the Sunday school classes and parents will be interested to know more about the Christian life.

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Galatians 6:10

With a heart of compassion, pray for the salvation of souls on each of the continents of the world. Pray that the Gospel of Jesus Christ will spread to the seven billion people throughout the world. "The Lord… is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). Ask God to strengthen you to be a witness for Him wherever you are and in whatever you do!
