Pray daily for pastors in the Slavic countries (as well as your own) that they will have wisdom and power from God to preach the Word effectually and to care for all of the saints. Pray that the convicting power of the Holy Spirit will accompany the preaching of God’s Word throughout all lands. Ask God to stir up Christians to use their God-given freedom to the fullest advantage in making known everywhere the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “Freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8). |
If the Lord does not allow to go unnoticed without reward a cup of water given, how much more will He surely reward if believers minister to spiritual needs, especially the salvation of souls. That is when a cup of the “water of life” is given.
How many millions are thirsting for the water of life? How can they receive it that they might “never thirst” (John 4:14), unless it is given by those believers who have already obtained it? Much reward will the children of God forfeit, because they do not realize the value of opportunities that God has placed within their hands – opportunities to offer others “living water” (John 4:10).
Christians must consider how to spend their time for Christ’s sake. Even giving a cup of water for His sake is not forgotten by God. Abundant rewards and glory await the believer that allows God to use him to reach souls with salvation. The lives of many of God’s children are choked with non-essentials, engaging in events that bring no reward from the hand of the Lord. “Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold not back those stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, ‘Surely we did not know this,’ does not He who weighs the heart consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?” (Proverbs 24:11-12). When was the last time you gave a cup of water for His sake to someone that was thirsty?
Therefore, “joyously draw water from the springs of salvation” (Isaiah 12:3), and offer life to those people in need. Many desire that their spiritual thirst be quenched. Will you share with them the water of life? “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost” (Revelation 21:6).
