Summer Camps in Slavic Countries

Pray daily for pastors in the Slavic countries (as well as your own) that they will have wisdom and power from God to preach the Word effectually and to care for all of the saints. Pray that the convicting power of the Holy Spirit will accompany the preaching of God’s Word throughout all lands. Ask God to stir up Christians to use their God-given freedom to the fullest advantage in making known everywhere the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “Freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8).

When children are enjoying their summer months far from school studies, many will be attending summer activities in camping environments. Many of the national missionaries of SMS are involved in organizing and overseeing summer camps for children and young people in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova. Most camps are held at the end of June or in the months of July and early August.

Summer camps will be conducted in Byransk, Khimki and Oryol, Russia; Borislav, Lvov, Lutsk and Rozhische, Ukraine; Borisov, Gomel, Minsk, Polotsk, Novopolotsk, Stolbsti and Ushachi, Belarus; and Bendery, Moldova. How grateful Slavic Missionary Service is to God that there are qualified leaders in each of these Slavic countries to direct effective programs for the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray that the SMS leadership will secure affordable sites and find qualified volunteer staff for their programs.

Also, pray that God will provide the workers with energy and enthusiasm, as they introduce the knowledge of the Creator and the plan of salvation from the Scriptures to many children and young people who have never heard this vital information. And pray that the workers will build up “young” believers in their faith and challenge them to become better servants of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.

Proverbs 10:12

Through prayer, missionaries are sent out to the field (Matthew 9:37-38) and enabled to speak with boldness and power (Acts 4:29-31). Through prayer, doors are opened to preaching (Colossians 4:3); the Word of the Lord has free course (2 Thessalonians 3:1), and men hear the Gospel (1 Timothy 2:1-4). Through prayer, believers are strengthened (Ephesians 3:14-19; Colossians 1:9-12) and needs are supplied (Philippians 4:19). Through prayer, mighty works are accomplished (John 14:12-13). How important it is to pray!
