A place to worship, fellowship and promote the Gospel is so important to the Christian community.
Such a place was dedicated to the Lord recently in the city of Gomel, Belarus.
The church is located near a park and a huge stadium. Nearby public transportation makes the church easily accessible for members and visitors. The small band of believers began working together to plant a new church as early as 1993. At this time, they rented the Cultural Hall in downtown Gomel. The group grew, and property was purchased in 1995. Construction and renovation started in 2000, but the process was painstakingly slow. Through the assistance of members of the church and other donations, the church has finally been completed.
The building can accommodate 200 people for a worship service or special event. Other rooms are available for Sunday school classes, Bible study, youth meetings and special celebrations.
It is necessary to erect a fence around the front and side of the territory. The building adjacent to the church also needs some improvements. Within the city of Gomel are three evangelical churches. Gomel is the second largest city of Belarus with a population of 482,000 people. It is situated in the southeastern part of Belarus near the Ukrainian border. (Minsk the capital is the largest city).
