Children and Young people are all alike whether they live in the United States, in Russia, in Moldova or in Belarus. And just as churches in America seek to reach the next generation with the good news of the Gospel, churches likewise in other countries have the same outreaches.
Many of the missionaries of Slavic Missionary Service were involved in summer camp ministries. What was the purpose of these summer programs? The purpose was to show children and young people that God loves them, His Son Jesus died for their sins, and by the leading of the Holy Spirit, anyone can repent and receive eternal life.
A summer day camp was held in Oryol, Russia for three days with "blow-up" slides and a trampoline. In Bendery, Moldova a summer day camp also was conducted for five days. Each day the children enjoyed crafts, songs, snacks and an interesting challenge from the Bible.
In Zelva, Belarus a ten-day summer camping program was held for 80 young people. It was the first time that many attended a Christian camp with activities centered on the Bible. SMS workers in Bryansk, Russia, as well as other areas in Belarus and Western Ukraine, also assisted in organizing and directing summer programs in their respective areas.
Slavic Missionary Service is grateful for the partnership it maintains with supporters who make many of these ministries possible. Our national workers appreciate each and every person that spiritually and financially gives to assist them in the furtherance of the Gospel.
