Summer camping programs have become one of the best methods to reach children and young people with the message of salvation. Many of the national workers of Slavic Missionary Service are involved in summer camp ministries. Some are organizers and leaders, while others are teachers, counselors and special speakers. This past summer, programs were conducted in such places as Bendery, Moldova; Bryansk, Oryol and Zhigulovsk, Russia; Borislav, Lutsk and Lvov, Ukraine; as well as Borisov, Gomel, Minsk, Novopolotsk, Uchashi and Vitebsk, Belarus. Many children and young people learned of the Creator who cares for all people and has provided freedom from the bondage of sin through His Son, Jesus Christ.
As this ministry continues to grow with opportunities to reach children in areas where no spiritual assistance is available, SMS desires to provide funding for those workers who are limited in resources. Consider how you can assist SMS in this important outreach with your donations. Designate your gift as SMS Summer Camp 2013 and send it to Slavic Missionary Service, PO Box 307, South River, NJ 08882. If your church would be intrested in sending a summer team to Russia, Ukraine, Belarus or Moldova, please contact the SMS office for future opportunities.
The donations of a Blow-up Slide and Bounce House have become vital tools of ministry during the summer months in the country of Russia. Each year, a team of volunteers travels to different cities and towns with these items and conducts summer day camps. This past year, the Bounce House and Blow-up Slide were "loaned" to the country of Belarus for ministry in Gomel and Oktyabersky. Volunteers from America, Russia and Gomel joined together to accomplish two successful day camps. The small group of believers in Oktyabersky was truly delighted to participate in the program, for this was the first time the small town experienced this kind of ministry for the children. Many made decisions to continue learning about the Creator and His creation.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
