When children are enjoying their summer months far from school studies, many will be attending summer activities in camping environments. Many of the national missionaries of SMS are involved in organizing and overseeing summer camps for children and young people in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.

Because of financial difficulties in the Slavic world (as well as throughout Eastern Europe), some workers have decided to conduct summer "day" camps (like Vacation Bible Schools here in the United States) in their communities. This arrangement is cost effective and sill provides the atmosphere and activities of a tradition camping program.

Summer day camps will be conducted for the first time in Gomel, Belarus and Khimki, Russia. As in past years, summer camps at traditional campgrounds are scheduled in Bryansk, Russia and Lutsk, Ukraine specifically designed for all age groups.

Pray that God will provide the workers with energy and enthusiasm, as they introduce the knowledge of the Creator and the plan of salvation from the Scriptures to many children and young people who have never heard this vital information. Also pray that the workers will build up "young" believers in their faith and challenge them to become better servants of the Lord Jesus Christ.
