Benjamin Rubakha, has been a missionary with Slavic Missionary Service for over fifteen years. He is the director of the Volyn Bible Institute in Lutsk, Ukraine.
At the present time, 340 male students are enrolled at different levels of study. Also, 320 female students are completing a Christian education course, especially designed for women's ministry.
The institute has 43 teachers involved in the courses – 25 for the men's classes and 18 for the women's classes. The main focus of the institute is to train future pastors and leaders for small groups of ministry within churches.
Benjamin and his staff also conduct Bible studies for non-believers focusing on the Gospel of John. During the week, many of them travel to small towns and villages to conduct these meetings. Each study group consists of six to ten people. (Two other SMS couples participate in this ministry.)
The Rubakhas are attending Golgotha Church in Lutsk, where both Benjamin and Larisa serve in the Sunday school ministry. Benjamin also preaches in the worship services. The church has a weekday meeting specifically designed for young children of non-Christian families. Twice a week, Benjamin conducts a two-hour meeting for the parents of the children who attend. He desires to start a men's Bible study with those who have attended these meetings.
Benjamin is also involved in organizing and conducting conferences, camps and street evangelism for young people in the Volyn region of Ukraine. He and his staff have seen many good results from past activities for the youth.
Benjamin and Larisa have two daughters, Lena and Ilona. Both are married and are serving the Lord in Lutsk, Ukraine.
