When the Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Colosse, he expressed delight concerning their progress in the Christian walk of faith. He also exhorted the believers to prevent wrong beliefs from infiltrating the church in order that Christ may have the preeminence in every aspect of life. "It is the Lord Christ whom you serve" (Colossians 3:24). Finally, Paul mentions five men who have been an encouragement to him, while he sits in prison awaiting judgment.
When visiting the SMS workers in Belarus, Rob Zapotoski, International Field Coordinator and Interim Director, sees "first-hand" these points that Paul penned in his epistle to the Colossians. The progress of the SMS missionaries is visually evident, as the membership of the churches increases and various ministries expand. Conversations about conflicts lead to conversations of counsel and correction.
Finally, the encouragement brought to the SMS workers is always returnedwith equal encouragement given by each one of the workers. Whether the fellowship is enjoyed in a church setting or around the kitchen table, gratitude is always expressed by the missionaries for the assistance given through Slavic Missionary Service. Pray that SMS will continue this unique partnership to fulfill the Great Commission.
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
