Для всех нас его жизнь будет примером особой посвященности, жертвенности, глубокой любви к Господу и ближним. Будем стараться подражать героям веры, как они Христу. Нас утешает, что брат уже в Царстве Небесном - там, где несравненно лучше. Впереди радость воскресения и встречи.

Beloved Family and Co-Laborers,
We join with you in mourning the loss of a life-long faithful servant of Christ. Alex's leadership and his example inspired many and resulted in a yet to be revealed great harvest of souls for the glory of our Savior. His excellent service with SGA in Quito reached untold lost souls and encouraged and strengthened the brethren spread all across the vast Soviet Union. We are very thankful to our Heavenly Father to have had such a wonderful partner in the Gospel.
About such a loving, faithful warrior for Christ the Apostle John wrote, "And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, "Write, 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!'" "Yes," says the Spirit, "so that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them." Revelation 14:13.
As you celebrate the exemplary life of Brother Alex and endure our earthly loss, our hearts and prayers are with you all.

We had a long and blessed relationship with Alex, who served faithfully as our representative to Russian-speaking people for the last 39 years. He led many into the Kingdom, and we're certain there was a crowd waiting for him when he arrived in Glory. Our prayers are with his family and those who carry on the ministry of SMS.

Всеукраинский Союз Объединений евангельских христиан-баптистов с глубокой печалью и скорбью принял известие о земной кончине нашего дорогого и возлюбленного брата в Господе, верного и искреннего служителя на ниве Божьей, Алексея Павловича Леоновича Мы благодарны Господу за посвященность и жертвенность его долгого и верного служения, как руководителя христианской миссии «Славянское миссионерское служение». Алексей Павлович в советские времена был частым гостем в нашей стране. Он приезжал к нам для того, чтобы ободрить и поддержать наших служителей в те нелегкие и трудные дни, был искренним братом и благословенным вдохновением для многих из нас. Мы выражаем самые искренние соболезнования родным и близким дорогого нам брата и друга, и всем тем, кто имел чудесную возможность нести служение вместе с ним! Пусть Господь поддержит и даст вам Своё утешение. Молимся вместе с вами и ждём скорой встречи с ним на небесах! «Поминайте наставников ваших, которые проповедывали вам слово Божие, и, взирая на кончину их жизни, подражайте вере их...» (Евр. 13:7)

Alex was a choice and devoted servant of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am grateful that I had the opportunity of meeting him, traveling with him to Ukraine and serving on the board of a Russian Mission. He will live on in my memory as a humble believer who never would quit ministering. He had the ability to see beyond a persons flaws and help them become all God wanted them to be. I am so glad I did get to know Alex.

Today I got the news that Alek went to be the Lord. I always thought highly of him. In 1975 at the Billy Graham's Lausanne Congress I was appointed to produce four Hungarian programs about the Congress, translate the Hungarian delegation and lead a the Eastern Europe National Strategy Group discussion. Well, this last one I did not know how I would be able to do next to my other responsibilities. When I did not know what to do, then came the answer to my prayer, because Alek arrived to the Congress. Right away I talked to him and he graciously not only accepted to lead this group of various nationalities, but did a very good job. This was an occasion when he came personally to my rescue for which I was thankful to the Lord and to him.
In my eyes he always was a great person in the Lord's work. We will see him in Heaven. I prayed already that the Lord would comfort you and your loved ones.

Dear David, Dawn and all members of the Alex Leonovich FAMILY, with big sadness we received the news about Alex Leonovich death. At the same time we thank God for his life and ministry during many decades for His glory. As teenager many years ago I was listening to Christen radio programs and the voice of Alex Leonovich was bringing the GOOD NEWS to our homes in Soviet Union time! I will never forget this voice! I also was every time blessed to meet Alex in person later during my visits of USA and his visits in Russia!
May our Lord bless you and calm you all during this time of loss!

Каждый из тех, кто слышал по радио голос Алексея Павловича, кто видел его удивительно светлую улыбку, не забудет этого никогда.
