Fellowship among believers of like-faith is extremely important for the structure and stability of any Christian organization. “God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 1:9). Fellowship conveys the unity that a body of believers enjoys together and communicates a common bond or goal within that group. “And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42).

An atmosphere of the love of God and His Word in the home will certainly cultivate a desire to be “wise unto salvation” (2 Timothy 3:14-15). A well-ordered Christian home will help everyone to behave “in the Lord” at all times.
The old term “family altar” has lost its significance in today’s world. Because of progress in technology, travel and medical treatments, the pace of life has accelerated. There seems to be no time to gather together to meet, eat or entreat one another with important information, instruction or intimacy.

Paul prayed for the churches founded under his ministry, as well as churches that sent leaders to him for counsel. He also felt personal concern for many individuals and mentioned them in his epistles. “Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches” (2 Corinthians 11:28). Paul understood that the leadership of each church community (as well as all members) needed to band together for strength and support.
